ইংরেজিতে "It is/was..." এর পরে subject pronoun (we, he, they) ব্যবহার করা হয়, object pronoun (us, him, them) নয়।

• Be verb (am, is, was, were) এর পরে যদি কোনো pronoun বসে তবে সেই pronoun টি subjective form বসে।
- প্রশ্নে উল্লিখিত বাক্যে subject It এরপর be verb হিসেবে was বসেছে।
- তাই, এরপর subjective pronoun হিসেবে I, you (singular), he/she/it, we, you (plural), they ইত্যাদির ব্যবহার শুদ্ধ।

• এখানে "students" শব্দটি plural হওয়ায়, সঠিক verb "were" ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
- বাক্যটি passive voice-এ আছে যেখানে "given" হলো past participle, তাই "were given" হচ্ছে সঠিক ফর্ম।

• সাধারণত, Sentence এর শুরুতে each, every থাকলে subject singular number হয়।
• কিন্তু কোন বাক্যের গঠন যদি এমন হয় যে- subject plural number+ each/ every+ verb+ obj,  তাহলে subject plural অর্থই প্রকাশ করবে এবং verb, subject অনুসারে plural number হবে।

• উল্লিখিত বাক্যে each এর পূর্বে plural noun The students এসেছে,

• বাক্যটি "She herself killed her son."-এ "herself" শব্দটি "she" শব্দের উপর অতিরিক্ত জোর বা গুরুত্ব আরোপ করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

• Reflexive pronoun: 
- যে সকল pronoun, personal pronoun এর সাথে self/selves যোগে গঠিত হয় সেগুলোকে Reflexive pronoun বলে।
- কতিপয় Reflexive pronoun হচ্ছে - myself, ourselves, yourselves, himself, itself etc.

• Reflexive pronouns, which are used just after the noun to stress or emphasize the noun, are called emphatic pronouns.

• যে সকল pronoun, personal pronoun - এর সাথে self / selves যোগে গঠিত হয় সেগুলো Reflexive  pronoun অথবা Emphatic Pronoun হয়। যেমন- myself, ourselves, yourself, yourselves, himself, itself etc.

• এখন Reflexive আর Emphatic এর মধ্যে পার্থক্য হচ্ছে, যখন Subject এবং Object উভয়টি একই ব্যক্তি হয়, তখন Object হিসেবে myself, ourselves etc. ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং তখন এগুলোকে Reflexive Pronoun বলা হয়।  যেমন – She killed herself.
- আর যখন ‍Subject এর উপর Emphasis বা জোর প্রদান করার জন্য myself, ourselves etc. ব্যবহৃত হয়, তখন এগুলোকে Emphatic Pronoun বলা হয়। যেমন- She herself killed her son.

- এখানে "herself" ব্যবহার করে বোঝানো হয়েছে যে তিনি নিজেই কাজটি করেছেন। বাক্যটি "She killed her son" থেকেও অর্থবহ ছিল, কিন্তু "herself" দ্বারা extra emphasis যোগ করা হয়েছে।

• Negative sentence এ ‘need’ modal auxiliary হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হলে need এর পরে not বসে এবং এর পরে to বসাতে হয়না।
- অর্থাৎ, need not এর সাথে infinitive to এর ব্যবহার উহ্য সাথে।
- এক্ষেত্রে need এর সাথে কখনো s/es যুক্ত হয় না।

•  Need বাক্যে মূল verb হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয় আবার modal হিসেবেও ব্যবহৃত হয় তাই এর সাধারণ নাম semi-modal.

- এই বাক্যে article টি noun quite এরপর বসলে বাক্যটি সঠিক হবে।
সঠিক গঠন হবে: "quite + article (an) + adjective (impressive) + noun (performance)"
- সুতরাং, সঠিক বাক্যটি হচ্ছে - It was quite an impressive performance.

অন্যদিকে,অন্যান্য বিকল্পগুলো:
ক) He has such a fascinating idea! → সঠিক।
খ) I have half a cup of tea left. → সঠিক।
গ) What a stunning painting! → সঠিক।

- সাধারণত, half, quite, rather, such, what ইত্যাদি কোন Noun বা Noun Phrase কে Modify করলে, ঐ Noun বা Noun Phrase এর পূর্বে a/an বসে।
- যেমন:
- It is quite an interesting book.
- I have half a loaf.
- He has such an amazing voice!
- What a beautiful voice.

আবার, বিশেষ করে half এর ক্ষেত্রে দুটি নিয়ম লক্ষ্যণীয়:
• half + a/an + singular noun

সঠিক উত্তর: ক) cannot but wonder.
• "Cannot but" এর পর verb এর base form (wonder) বসে।

• Cannot but এবং Cannot help but  এরপর verb এর base form বসে।
- এরপর কোন infinitive বা verb এর সাথে '-s/es' যুক্ত হয় না।

•  Although - যদিও, যদ্যপি।
- Although থাকলে দুইটি clause সাধারণত একই tense-এ থাকে এবং দুইি বিপরীতধর্মী ধারণা প্রকাশ করে।
- Although দ্বারা দুটি clause যুক্ত হয় আর although বাক্যের শুরুতে ব্যবহৃত হলে দুটি clause এর মাঝে শুধু  comma ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- অন্য কোনো conjunction বসে না।
- Although যুক্ত বাক্য Complex Sentence হয়।

Example Sentence:
- Although it was raining, we decided to go for a walk.

• এই বাক্যটিতে Passive Voice ব্যবহার করা উচিত, কারণ:
- এই বাক্যে Passive Voice ব্যবহার করা হচ্ছে, কারণ কাজটি কেউ করছে (গবেষণা দল) এবং রিপোর্টের প্রস্তুতি হচ্ছে, যা চলমান অবস্থায় রয়েছে।

Passive Voice এর গঠন:
Subject + is/am/are + being + Past Participle.
এখানে: The report + is + being + prepared.

• সঠিক উত্তরটি হবে - is being prepared.
- Complete sentence: The report is being prepared by the research team.
Bangla: গবেষণা দল দ্বারা রিপোর্টটি প্রস্তুত করা হচ্ছে।

• As if / as though এর পূর্বে present indefinite tense থাকলে as if / as though এর পরে past indefinite/perfect tense হয় এবং be verb থাকলে সবসময় were হয়।
যেমন:
- He speaks as if he were mad.
- He talks as though he were a child.

As if / as though এর পূর্বে Past indefinite tense থাকলে As if / as though এর পরে past perfect হয়। যেমন:

• They are accustomed to living in a cold climate. The underlined part is an example of - Gerund.
- "Living" is a gerund because it is the -ing form of a verb (live) that functions as a noun.
- After a preposition (to), a verb must be in the gerund form (verb + ing) rather than the infinitive.
- বাক্যে verb + ing যুক্ত word যদি বাক্যের preposition এর পরে object হিসেবে বসে, তবে তা সাধারণত Gerund হবে।
- প্রশ্নে উল্লিখিত বাক্যটিতে preposition to এর object হিসেবে Living একটি Gerund.

• Gerund:
- Verb এর সাথে ing যোগ হয়ে যদি noun এর কাজ করে অর্থাৎ Verb ও noun এর কাজ করে, তাহলে তাকে Gerund বলে।
- সংক্ষেপে: Gerund = Verb + ing = noun = Verb + noun.
- It is a word ending in "-ing" that is made from a verb and used like a noun.

ক) garrulous:
- বাচাল; বাক্যবাগীশ।

খ) gregarious:

• So that যুক্ত complex sentence গুলোতে সাধারণত can, could, may, might ইত্যাদি বসে। 
- প্রথম cluse এ present থাকলে so that এর পরে may/can ইত্যাদি বসে,
- past tense - এ থাকলে, তাই so that এর পরে past form might/could বসে। 

• প্রশ্নে উল্লেখিত বাক্যের ১ম clause টি present tense এ আছে, তাই পরের clause এ may হয়েছে।

• প্রশ্নটি করা হয়েছে Before যুক্ত বাক্যের গঠন এর উপর ভিত্তি করে। 

• Before যুক্ত বাক্যের গঠন:
- Past perfect + before + Past indefinite.
- 'Before' conjunction যুক্ত sentence এ before এর পুর্বে past perfect tense হয় এবং before এর পরে past indefinite হবে।

• Sentence Correction: They had cleaned the house before the guests arrived.
- বাক্যটিতে before এর পূর্বে past perfect tense ও পরে past indefinite হওয়াতে সঠিক হয়েছে।

• Complex to simple:
যদি Though/Although clause এ has/have/had থাকে সেক্ষেত্রে নিচের নিয়মটি ব্যবহার করে simple এ পরিণত করতে হবে:

- Though/Although এর পরিবর্তে Despite/In spite of বসে।
-  subject এর possessive form বসে।
- has/have/had এর স্থানে having অথবা verb+ ing ব্যবহার হবে।
- বাকি অংশ বসে। 
- ২য় clause.

Complex: Though the man has much riches, he wants more.
Simple: In spite of his having much riches, he wants more.

Complex: Though he has great knowledge, he remains humble.
Simple: In spite of his having great knowledge, he remains humble.

Active: The chef will be preparing the meals.
Passive: The meals will be being prepared by the chef.

• Future continuous Tense যুক্ত active voice কে passive voice এ পরিণত করার নিয়ম -
- object টি subject রূপে বসে। 
- shall be being/ will be being বসে। 
- মুল verb এর past participle form বসে। 
- এরপর by বসে। 
- সবশেষে subject এর objective form বসে।

Active: The government will be implementing new policies.
Passive: New policies will be being implemented by the government.

• Passive voice-এ পরিবর্তন করার সময়, সরাসরি অবজেক্ট (a job)কে subject হিসেবে নিয়ে আসে, এবং Company কে "by" দিয়ে প্রকাশ করা হয়।
সঠিক passive sentence: "A job was offered to him by the company."

• Double object যুক্ত Active Voice কে Passive Voice এ রূপান্তরের নিয়ম: 
- দুটি object এর যেকোন একটিকে passive voice এর subject করতে হয় (তবে ব্যক্তিবাচক অর্থাৎ Indirect object- কে subject করাই শ্রেয়) + 
- Tense অনুযায়ী Auxiliary verb বসে + 
- প্রদত্ত মূল verb এর Past Participle বসে + 
- প্রদত্ত বাকী object টি বসে + 
- by বসে + 
- প্রদত্ত active voice এর subject টি object রূপে বসে।

Active: I gave him a book.
Passive: He was given a book by me.
or 
A book was given to him by me.

Active: The company offered him a job.
Passive: He was offered a job by the company.
Or, A job was offered to him by the company.

•বিকল্প ক) "He was offered job by the company." – এখানে "a" article বাদ পড়েছে, তাই এটা ব্যাকরণগতভাবে ভুল।

• Assiduous (adjective)
English Meaning: Showing hard work, care, and attention to detail.
Bangla Meaning: অধ্যবসায়ী; প্রযত্নবান; নিষ্ঠাবান: assiduous in one’s studies.

• Complex এবং compound sentence-যুক্ত Active voice-কে passive-এ পরিণত করার সময় উভয় clause-এর voice পরিবর্তন করা হয়।
- এরূপ ক্ষেত্রে কখনো কখনো introductory 'It' ব্যবহার করতে হয়।

• প্রশ্নে উল্লেখিত বাক্যটি একটি complex sentence.
- তাই এর passive করবার ক্ষেত্রে  উভয় clause-এর voice পরিবর্তন করতে হবে।
- কিন্তু clause গুলো স্থান পরিবর্তন করবে না।

• এটি একটি complex sentence যেখানে দুটি clause রয়েছে:
- "She said" — এটি Past Indefinite Tense-এ রয়েছে।
- "She had finished her work" — এটি Past Perfect Tense-এ রয়েছে।

• Past Indefinite Tense-কে passive voice-এ রূপান্তর করতে হলে was/were + মূল verb-এর past participle ফর্ম ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
• Past Perfect Tense-কে passive voice-এ রূপান্তর করতে হলে had been + মূল verb-এর past participle ফর্ম ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
 
• নিয়মানুযায়ী, 
Active: She explained that she had completed the assignment.
Passive: It was explained by her that the assignment had been completed by her.

Active: She said that she had finished her work.
Passive: It was said by her that her work had been finished by her.

• Prefix:
- Word এর মূল (root) অংশের এর বাম পাশে বা প্রথমে যে বর্ণ বা বর্ণগুচ্ছ যুক্ত হয় তাকে Prefix বলে। 
- Im-, Un-, In- ইত্যাদি Prefix হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

English meaning: used to show that something is almost, but not completely, the thing described/ ​that appears to be something but is not really so/ in some sense or degree.

-  Tense ও subject অনুযায়ী Auxiliary verb (was) বসে।
- তারপর মূল Verb -এর Past Participle বসবে।

- শেষে by + Active voice -এর Subject টি Object হবে।

Active: He made me do the work.
- এখানে Active voice এ 'made' থাকায় passive করার সময় 'to' বসবে। 
Passive: I was made to do the work by him. 

Active: I saw him cross the road.
- এখানে Active voice এ 'saw' থাকায় passive করার সময় 'to' বসবে। 
Passive: He was seen to cross the road by me.

- এই বাক্যের checked হচ্ছে finite and main verb, যা tense এর ভিত্তিতে গঠিত।
- তাই, Waiting একই সঙ্গে Non-finite verb and Participle.

• Participle:
- A participle is a verb that ends in -ing (present participle) or -ed, -d, -t, -en, -n (past participle). Participles may function as adjectives, describing or modifying nouns.
- Participle হচ্ছে (verb + adjective), সেজন্য কোনো না কোনো noun বা pronoun এর সাথে sub বা obj হিসাবে এর সম্পর্ক থাকে।

- এখানে 'To travel the world' Subject হিসেবে Noun phrase এর কাজ করছে।

Noun Phrase-এর ভূমিকা:

• Simple sentence এ to অথবা in order to থাকলে Compound Sentence এ পরিণত করতে তিনটি কাজ করতে হয় -
- যথা-
(1) Clause গুলোর অবস্থান উল্টে যাবে।
(2) ‘want to’ অতিরিক্ত যোগ হবে।
(3) ‘and so/ therefore’ Conjunction যোগ হবে।

• সুতরাং, নিয়মানুযায়ী সঠিক উত্তর হবে -
Simple: He left early to catch the train.
Compound: He wanted to catch the train and so he left early.

Simple: She joined the course to learn new skills.
Compound: She wanted to learn new skills and so she joined the course.

Complete sentence: The new environment is conducive to improving work efficiency.

• To এর পরে সাধারণত verb এর base form বসে। 
- কিন্তু বাক্যে conducive to থাকলে এর পর কোন verb আসলে উক্ত verb এর সাথে ing যুক্ত হয়।

• যেহেতু প্রদত্ত প্রশ্নে conducive আছে এবং এরপর verb আছে, তাই এর সাথে to + verb+ ing যুক্ত হবে।

- এছাড়াও, বাক্যে devoted to, with a view to, conducive to, addicted to, be used to, get used to, mind, cannot help, could not help, look forward to, be used to, worth ইত্যাদি থাকলে এদের পরেও verb+ing হয়।

• Formal Letter : একটি Formal/ Official Letter/ Application এর ৬টি অংশ থাকে।

- যে verb এর object আছে তাকে transitive verb বলে৷
- Transitive verbs এর সাধারণ Structure  হচ্ছে : subject + verb + object
- Object সর্বদাই Noun অথবা Pronoun হয়।
- তাই বাক্যে verb এর পরে Noun অথবা Pronoun থাকলে verb টি সাধারণত transitive verb হবে।
- আবার intransitive verb এর শেষে preposition + object যুক্ত করেও তাকে transitive verb এ পরিণত করা যায়।
