• Elegy: (শোকগাথা) এর কিছু বৈশিষ্ট্য রয়েছে - 
- যেমন -
- এই ধরণের কবিতাগুলো মূলত speaker এর lamentation বা শোকের প্রকাশ দ্বারা শুরু করা হয়। 
- Elegy এর মধ্যবর্তী অংশে the speaker idealizes and admires the dead.
- এরপর speaker এক পর্যায়ে  সমাজকে দোষারোপ করে থাকে for doing injustice to the dead এবং for not allowing the dead person to do what he could have done.
- The speaker usually তাঁর মৃত বন্ধু বা ব্যক্তিটিকে তাঁর চারপাশে অনুভব করতে থাকেন এবং এই কারনে বিভিন্ন spiritual quotations এর সৃষ্টি হয় এই ধরনের কবিতায়।

• Dejection: An Ode:
Samuel Taylor Coleridge রচিত এটি একটি autobiographical poem, যা প্রকাশিত হয় 1802 সালে।
- When he wrote this poem, Coleridge was addicted to opium, was unhappy in his marriage, and had fallen in love with Sara Hutchinson.
