- Unless অর্থ if ...... not (যদি না)। 
- Unless দ্বারা যে clause শুরু হয় সে clause এ 'not' ব্যবহৃত হয় না। 
- অপর clause টি বিপরীত অর্থ প্রকাশ করে। 

Complete Sentence: Unless you develop a habit of saving money, you won't have the means to go on that vacation.

• Hardly এর ব্যবহার: 
- Hardly অর্থ সবেমাত্র। 
- Hardly + past perfect tense- এরূপে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 
- Structure: Hardly had + subject + verb (past participle) + Object + when + Subject + verb (past) + Object. 
- এভাবে একই অর্থে scarcely had ....... when/before এরূপে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

English Meaning - To become less common and finally stop existing. 
Bangla Meaning - অবলুপ্ত হওয়া। 

Example Sentences: 
- Dinosaurs died out millions of years ago.
- It's a custom that is beginning to die out.

Complete Sentence - Traditional crafts and skills often die out as technology advances.

English Meaning - To give something or someone that you control to someone else. 
Bangla Meaning - (দায়িত্ব) কারো হাতে তুলে দেওয়া/সোপর্দ করা।

In lieu of/ In stead of: 
- In lieu of/ In stead of এর অর্থ পরিবর্তে। 
- একটি জিনিস বা বিষয়ের পরিবর্তে অন্যটি নেওয়া বা পছন্দ বুঝাতে এ phrase দুটি ব্যবহৃত হয়। 
- এ জাতীয় phrase simple sentence- এ বসে।

- On account of অর্থ 'কারণে' বা 'জন্যে'। 
- As if অর্থ 'যেন'। 
- Because of অর্থ 'জন্য; দরুন'।

Desire (noun): 
Meaning - কামনা; কাম; ইচ্ছা; বাসনা; স্পৃহা; অভিলাষ। 
Example Sentence - He has a strong desire for fame.

Powerful (adjective): 
Meaning - শক্তিশালী; পরাক্রান্ত; প্রবল; বলিষ্ঠ; জোরালো। 

• প্রশ্নে উল্লিখিত বাক্যে 'His powerful desire' দ্বারা বাক্যের যথার্থ অর্থ প্রকাশ পায় না। 
- এক্ষেত্রে His desire for power (তার ক্ষমতার প্রতি বাসনা) ব্যবহার করলে বাক্যটির অর্থ যথার্থ হয়। 

Correct Sentence - His desire for power brought about his downfall. 
Meaning - ক্ষমতার আকাঙ্ক্ষাই তার পতন ঘটায়। 

Insist on/upon/ Insist on doing something:
- To keep doing something, even if it annoys other people, or people think it is not good for you.
- বাংলায়, কোনো কিছুতে জোর দেয়া বা পীড়াপীড়ি করা  ।
- Insist on/upon এর সাথে verb এর -ing form বসে।

যেমন:
- He insisted on my going there.
- She insists on doing everything her own way.
- He insisted on seeing her.

Complete Sentence - Despite the alternative suggestions, she insisted on following the original plan.

• In the pink (idiom): 
English Meaning: in extremely good health and spirits.
Bangla Meaning: পূর্ণ স্বাস্থ্যবান / খুব ভালো অবস্থা।

Example Sentence: After the excellent result, I am in the pink now.
Bangla Meaning: অসাধারণ একটা ফলাফল পেয়ে আমি এখন খুব ভালো আছি।

তাই, Complete Sentence - If you are in the pink, you are fit, healthy, and happy.

Inversion:
- Hadly, scarcely, rarely, barely, never, no sooner, by no means of, at no time, not one, not once, not until, etc. Negative Adverb দিয়ে যদি কোন Sentence শুরু হয় তাহলে সেখানে Inversion হয়।
- অর্থ্যাৎ ঐ Sentence টি Interrogative structure ধারণ করে।
- Structure: Negative Adverb + Auxiliary verb + Subject + main verb + ------

Example - Never have we witnessed such cruel behavior by one child to another.

• প্রশ্নে উল্লিখিত sentence টি No sooner দ্বারা শুরু হয়েছে। 
- No sooner যুক্ত বাক্যে প্রথম clause এর পর 'than' বসে। 
- আর এখানে Inversion হওয়ায় No sooner এর পর Auxiliary verb (had) বসবে। 

Correct Sentence - No sooner had he entered the room than the light went out and everyone started talking loudly.

Burn the midnight oil (idiom): 
English Meaning - To work late into the night. 
Bangla Meaning - অধিক রাত পর্যন্ত জেগে কাজ করা।

Complete Sentence - As the deadline approached, the team had to burn the midnight oil to complete the project on time.

Throw in the towel - Stop trying to do something because you have realized that you cannot succeed.
