• So that যুক্ত complex কে simple করার নিয়ম:

- প্রদত্ত sentence এর প্রথম থেকে so এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত বসে,
- so থেকে many/might/can/could পর্যন্ত উঠে যায়,
- to বসে,
- প্রদত্ত sentence এর বাকি অংশ বসে।

Complex: He practiced every day so that he could improve his skills.
Simple: He practiced every day to improve his skills.

Active Voice: The siblings cherish each other.
Passive Voice: The siblings are cherished by each other.

• Reciprocal pronoun (each other, one another) যুক্ত active voice কে passive এ পরিণত করার সময় -
- Pronoun গুলো কখনোই subject হিসেবে বসবে না। 
- অর্থাৎ, এদের subject এবং object এর স্থান অপরিবর্তিত থাকে।
-  tense অনুযায়ী auxiliary verb + main verb এর past participle form বসে।

• Active structure: Subject + verb + Reflexive object.
• Passive: Subject অপরিবর্তিত + tense অনুযায়ী auxiliary verb + main verb এর past participle form + reciprocal pronoun.

• Machiavellian (adjective)
English Meaning: Cunning, scheming, and unscrupulous, especially in politics.
Bangla Meaning: (রাজনীতি) ম্যাকিয়াভেলিপন্থি; ছলেবলে ব্যক্তিস্বার্থ হাসিলকারী।

Example sentence: The politician's Machiavellian tactics allowed him to manipulate his opponents and secure power.
বাংলা অর্থ: রাজনীতিবিদের মেকিয়াভেলীয় কৌশল তাকে তার প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বীদের ধোঁকা দিয়ে ক্ষমতা দখল করতে সাহায্য করেছিল।

• They talked about improving their cooking skills.
- The underlined part is an example of - Gerundial Phrase.

• Gerundial Phrase:
- Verb+ing + Extension যদি Noun (Subject/ Object) এর কাজ করে তবে তাকে Gerundial Phrase বলে।
-  Verb+ing – noun এর কাজ করলে সেটা Gerund হয়।
- আর Gerund এর সাথে Object বা Modifier থাকলে Gerundial Phrase হয়।

• Gerundial Phrase এর আরো কিছু উদহারন:
- Walking in the morning is good for health.
- Helping the poor is a great virtue.
- Stop telling lies.

Simple to complex:
• Simple sentence-এ in the morning, in the evening, in the afternoon, at night, in the spring, in winter, in autumn ইত্যাদি থাকে,
তাহলে tense অনুযায়ী উপরের phrases গুলোর পূর্বে when it is/was বসে + যে phrase টি দেয়া থাকে সে phrase টি বসে।
যেমন-
Simple: The robin sings in spring.
Complex: The robin sings when it is spring.

• Paragraph হলো এমন একটি ক্ষুদ্র রচনা যার মধ্যে একটি মাত্র, idea বা theme থাকে।

• তাছাড়া Paragraph এ সাধারণত তিনটি অংশ থাকে।
• Topic Sentence: 
- একটি Paragraph এর প্রধান idea বা theme যে বাক্যের দ্বারা প্রকাশিত হয় তাকে topic sentence বলে।
- Topic Sentence সাধারণত কোনো Paragraph এর শুরুতে লেখা হয়। 
- Topic Sentence এ অবশ্যই একটি Controlling Idea থাকবে যা Paragraph এর বাকি অংশ Control করে।

• Body:
- প্রথম sentence- এর পর থেকে শেষ sentence এর আগ পর্যন্ত পুরো অংশটাকে parragraph এর body বলা যায়।
- এতে এমন সব বাক্যসমষ্টি থাকে যা paragraph এর মূল idea বা theme কে উপস্থাপিত করে।

• Terminator:
- এটাকে paragraph এর সমাপ্তি, উপসংহার বলে। এটি দিয়ে Paragraph শেষ হয়।
- অর্থাৎ একটি সার্থক সমাপ্তিসূচক sentence কে বলা হয় Terminator.

• Superlative to positive:
• Superlative কে positive করতে হলে চারটি কাজ করতে হয়:

1. Subject- Object হয়, Object - Subject হয়।
2. Affirmative -Negative হয়, Negative Affirmative হয়।
3. Degree change হয়।
4. Indicator Change হয় (as... as/ so....as --> than).

• One of the যুক্ত Superlative Degree কে Positive Degree তে রূপান্তরের নিয়ম:
- প্রথমে very few বসে।
- superlative degree এর পরের অংশ বসে।
- verb এর plural form বসে।
- so বসে।
- Superlative degree এর positive from বসে।
- as বসে।
- প্রদত্ত sentence এর Subject বসে।

Structure: Very few+ positive degree এর পরের Plural Noun + Plural Verb+ as/so + Positive Degree+ as +Subject of Positive Degree.

Superlative: Sarah is one of the brightest students in the group.
Positive: Very few students in the group are as bright as Marzia.

• The closest in meaning to 'Evaluate' is - Appraise.

• Evaluate (verb)
English Meaning: To assess, examine, or judge the value, quality, or significance of something.
Bangla Meaning: মূল্যায়ন করা; বিচার করা।

অপশন আলোচনা:

• Compound Sentence এবং Complex Sentence-এর ক্ষেত্রে Active voice-এর উভয় clause-কে একই voice-এ রূপান্তর করতে হয়।
- Active Voice People say দিয়ে শুরু হলে passive voice It is said দিয়ে শুরু করা হয়।

• Active voice এ people + stative verb (know, think, understand, know, find, say, etc) + that + clause থাকলে, passive করার নিয়ম হচ্ছে - 
- It is /was (tense অনুযায়ী) + said + that + বাকি clause (যা আছে তাই) টি।

• Active: People say that love conquers all.
• Passive: People say that love conquers all.

• Miscreant (noun)
English Meaning: Someone who behaves badly or does not obey rules:
Bangla Meaning:
(১) দুষ্কৃতকারী: We should avoid Miscreants. (২) দুর্বৃত্ত।

Synonyms: Scoundrel (বদমাশ), Criminal (অপরাধী), Rogue (দুষ্ট), Wicked (পাপী), Vicious (বিদ্বেষপূর্ণ), Villain(খলনায়ক)।

Antonyms: Decent (ভদ্র), Honest (সৎ), Moral (ধার্মিক), Nice (ভালো)।

• The required answer is - Letter.

• Letter দুই প্রকার।
যথা -
i) Informal Letter : যা ব্যক্তিগতভাবে আত্মীয়স্বজন বা বন্ধুবান্ধবের কাছে পাঠানো হয়।
ii) Formal Letter: Official বা Business সংক্রান্ত চিঠিপত্র।
যেমন - Application, Memorandum ইত্যাদি।

• Memorandum:

1. Heading: Date, Designation (পদবী) & Address of the Recipient
2. Salutation (সম্বোধন) : যেমন- Dear Sir/ Madam
3. Body (মূল বক্তব্য)
4. The Subscription: যেমন- Yours faithfully/ I remain, Sir
5. Signature of the Writer
6. Superscription: Detailed Designation & Address on the Envelope.

Active Voice: One can improve capabilities by one’s consistent practice.
Passive Voice: Capabilities can be improved by consistent practice.

• Active Voice এ Subject হিসেবে People ,one ইত্যাদি থাকলে Passive করার সময় People / one বাদ দিতে হয়।
- পাশাপাশি object অংশে one's + noun থাকলে passive থাকলে one's কে বাদ দিতে হয়। 
- অর্থাৎ, Active Voice এ Subject হিসেবে one থাকলে Passive Voice এ এটা উল্লেখ করার প্রয়োজন নেই।
- তাছাড়াও  passive করার সময় তাদেরকে by সহ লেখা হয় না।

- নিয়মানুযায়ী সঠিক passive form টি হচ্ছে - Capabilities can be improved by consistent practice.

English Meaning: Intended to show that you care about the feelings or opinions of someone who is angry or upset with you.
Bangla Meaning: সৌহার্দ্য অর্জন করে এমন; বিরোধ দূর করে এমন; আপোসমূলক।

• The required answer is - The ideas are connected in a way that is easy for the reader to follow.

• Coherence:
English meaning: systematic or logical connection or consistency/ the situation when the parts of something fit together in a natural or reasonable way.
Bangla meaning: একত্র আসঞ্জনশীল/ সঙ্গতিপূর্ণ; প্রাঞ্জল।

• Paragraph শব্দের অর্থ হলো অনুচ্ছেদ। ‌
- যে কোনো Paragraph এর মধ্যে দুটি উপাদান বর্তমান থাকা অত্যন্ত প্রয়োজন।
- এগুলো হলো- Cohesion এবং coherence.
- Coherence হচ্ছে paragraph এর বিভিন্ন অংশের সমন্বয়।

• একটি Paragraph এর মধ্যে একটাই Theme থাকে।
- Paragraph এর মধ্যে (diverse themes) বৈচিত্রপূর্ণ বিষয়বস্তু থাকা যাবে না।
- তাই Coherence (সংসক্তি বা একত্র সম্মেলন) Paragraph এর মধ্যেই থাকে।

• Active: The container contains fresh products.
- Passive: Fresh products are contained in the container.

• কিছ কিছু Active voice কে Passive voice এ রুপান্তর করার ক্ষেত্রে এদের পূর্বে 'by' বসেনা।
- এ জাতীয় কিছু verb হচ্ছে - annoyed with, marvelled at, surprised at, seized with, contained in etc.

• The container contains fresh products.
- উল্লিখত বাক্যের object - products বসেছে passive voice এ subject হিসেবে।
- যেহেতু বাক্যটি present indefinite tense এ গঠিত তাই মূল verb হিসেবে are বসেছে ।
- তারপর verb এর past participle form.
- এরপর in + Subject এর objective form.

• Divulge (verb-transitive)
English Meaning: Divulge something (to somebody) | divulge what, whether etc to give somebody information that is supposed to be secret.
Bangla Meaning: গোপন কথা ফাঁস করা।

Synonyms: Leak (ফাঁস করা), Reveal (প্রকাশ করা), Disclose (উন্মুক্ত করা), Expose (উন্মোচিত করা), Display (প্রদর্শন করা)।

• Dupe (noun)
English Meaning: Someone who has been tricked.
Bangla Meaning: যে প্রতারিত হয়।

Synonyms: Victim (বলি; শিকার), Gull (ঠকানো), Simpleton (আহাস্মক), Fool (বোকা, মূর্খ), Stooge (গর্দভ)।

Antonyms: Swindler (প্রতারণা; জোচ্চুরি), Con man (ঠগ), Scammer (প্রতারক), Gouger (জোচ্চোর), Chiseler (শঠতা)।

Other Forms: Dupe [ডূপ্] (verb transitive) প্রতারণা করা; বোকা বানানো: They realized they had been duped.

• Discerning (adjective) 
English Meaning: Able to make or usually making careful judgments about the quality of similar things.
Bangla Meaning: নির্ণয় করতে বা উপলব্ধি করতে সক্ষম; প্রাজ্ঞ।

• You should leave as soon as the clock strikes five.
- Here 'as soon as' is a/an - Conjunctional phrase.

• Conjunctional phrase:
- A conjunctional phrase conducts the function of the conjunction.
- যখন কোন phrase বা শব্দসমষ্টি একটি বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে Conjunction এর কাজ করে তখন তাকে Conjunctional phrase বলে।
- Parts of Speech এর যে Word গুলো দুই বা ততোধিক word, phrase, clause বা sentence কে যুক্ত করে তাকে Conjunction বলে। 
- দুইটি Sentence এর মধ্যে সংযোগ স্থাপনের জন্য Conjunction ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• প্রদত্ত বাক্যে 'as soon as' Conjunction এর কাজ করেছে বিধায় এটি Conjunctional phrase হয়েছে।

Complex Sentence: It is sure that climate change will have a significant impact on global agriculture.
Simple Sentence: Surely, climate change will have a significant impact on global agriculture.

Complex to simple: 
- Complex sentence এ 'it is sure' থাকলে Simple sentence এ 'it is sure' এর পরিবর্তে surely হবে।
- It is sure এর পরের relative pronoun টি বাদ যাবে, এরপরে বাকি sentence টি বসবে।

অন্য দিকে, 
- Complex sentence এ 'it is certain' থাকলে Simple sentence এ 'it is certain' এর পরিবর্তে certainly হবে।
- Complex sentence এ 'it is suddden' থাকলে Simple sentence এ 'it is sudden' এর পরিবর্তে suddenly হবে।
- Complex sentence এ 'it is clear' থাকলে Simple sentence এ 'it is clear' এর পরিবর্তে clearly হবে।
- Complex sentence এ 'it is definite' থাকলে Simple sentence এ 'it is definite' এর পরিবর্তে definitely হবে।

Example:
Complex Sentence: It is clear that the project is progressing well.
Simple Sentence: Clearly, the project is progressing well.

Complex Sentence: It was sudden that he lost his mobile.
Simple Sentence: Suddenly, he lost his mobile.

• সাধারণত যদি Imperative Sentence এর Active Voice টি Do not দিয়ে শুরু হয়, তাহলে passive voice এ, - প্রথমে Let not বসে,এরপর  Object টি subject রূপে বসে এবং তারপর be + মূল Verb-এর Past Participle বসে।
- এই নিয়মানুযায়ীই, প্রশ্নে উল্লিখিত passive বাক্যটি - Let not the portrait be touched গঠিত হয়েছে। 
- আর তাই, এই বাক্যটিকে active voice এ পরিবর্তন করতে হলে, let not বাদ যাবে এবং এর পরিবর্তে Do not বসবে এবং এর পরে মূল verb টি base form এ বসবে এবং এরপরে subject টি Object রূপে বসবে। 
- তাই সঠিক উত্তর - Do not touch the portrait.

• অন্যদিকে, • Passive voice এ “You are requested to” থাকলে active voice এ please/ kindlly ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- তাই, Please do not touch the portrait. - সঠিক উত্তর হবে না।

• Active voice থেকে passive voice করার নিয়ম:
- Active voice এর object টি passive voice এর subject হয়।
- Tense অনুযায়ী auxiliary verb বসে।
- তারপর মূল verb এর past participle হয়।
- Active voice এর subject টি passive voice এর object হয়।
- তার পূর্বে preposition (by, with, at, to, in) বসে।

Active voice: I am to make a telephone call.
Passive voice: A telephone call is to be made by me.
