• The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle written in The Anglo-Saxon Period is the earliest prose of English Literature.
- King Alfred the Great supervised the compilation of this.
- Alfred the King is the 'Founder of the English Prose'.
- Alfred, also spelled Aelfred, by name Alfred the Great, king of Wessex, a Saxon kingdom in southwestern England.
- তিনি ইংরেজ জাতির ইতিহাস 'The Anglo Saxon Chronicle' রচনা শুরু করেন এবং তাঁর মৃত্যুর পর আড়াইশো বছর ধরে এই গ্রন্থ রচিত হতে থাকে।
- 'The Anglo Saxon Chronicle' ইংরেজি সাহিত্যের ইতিহাসে প্রথম ইতিহাসের প্রথম গদ্যরচনা অর্থাৎ prose.
- তাই Alfred the King কে founder of prose বলা হয়।

- Caedmon, (flourished 658–680), first Old English Christian poet, whose fragmentary hymn to the creation remains a symbol of the adaptation of the aristocratic-heroic Anglo-Saxon verse tradition to the expression of Christian themes.
-  Caedmon is called 'The Father of English Sacred Song'.
- তিনি হচ্ছেন Old English Period এর আদি কবি।
