• Linking verb/ Copulative verb: 
- যে সকল verb সাধারণত subject ও Subjective complement এর মধ্যে যোগসূত্র স্থাপন করে তাদেরকে Linking verb/ Copulative verb বলে।
- Linking verb-এর complement হিসেবে সাধারণত adjective বসে৷ অর্থাৎ Linking verb এর পরে Adjective বসে। 
- Subject এবং subjective complement এর মধ্যবর্তী verb কে linking/Copulative verb বলে৷
- অবশ্যই মনে রাখতে হবে - Linking/copulative verb হচ্ছে actionless.

• Turn, be, become, smell, look, seem, remain, appear, get, grow etc. সাধারণত Linking verb হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- কিন্তু এগুলো বাক্যে ব্যবহারে ভিন্নতার কারণে Action verb ও হতে পারে।

• Adjective Clause:
- যেসব clause কোনো বাক্যে adjective এর কাজ করে তাদেরকে Adjective Clause বলে।
- এগুলো বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে কোন noun বা noun equivalent (noun এর সমতুল্য)-কে qualify করে।

- বাক্যে 'why Rumi came here' clauseটি reason (কারণ) nounটিকে modify করেছে।

একটি বাক্যের চারটি স্থানে Noun clause  বসতে পারে-
1. Subject হিসাবে 
2. Transitive verb এর object হিসেবে
3. Linking verb এরপরে complement হিসাবে

She comes to me when she has time. The underlined part of the sentence is - 'Sub-ordinate clause'. 
- এখানে 'when she has time' অর্থবোধক পরিপূর্ণ বাক্য নয়, তাই এটি Sub-ordinate clause.
 
• Sub-ordinate clause : 
- যে সকল clause তাদের অর্থ প্রকাশের জন্য Principal clause এর নির্ভরশীল এবং Principal clause এর সাথে যুক্ত হয়ে Complex sentence গঠন করে তাদেরকে Sub-ordinate clause বলে।

- Sub-ordinate clause সাধারণত,
As, for, because, since, Though, Although, If, as if, as though, after, before, that, so that, so that, Who, Whom, What, Which, Where, When, How. While, Till, Until, Unless ইত্যাদির পর ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং এগুলোর দ্বারা Main clause এর সাথে যুক্ত হয়।

1) Present + as if + Past Indefinite
- অর্থাৎ, as if এর পূর্বে present indefinite tense থাকলে as if এর পরে past indefinite হয় এবং be verb থাকলে সবসময় were হয়।
- Ex: He acts as if he were mad.
- বাক্যে as if , as though , wish এর পর to be verb আসলে তা সব সময় were হয়।

Complete sentence: He acts as if he were the king of the castle.

2) Past + as if + Past Perfect
- অর্থাৎ,As if / as though এর পূর্বে Past indefinite tense থাকলে As if / as though এর পরে past perfect হয়।
- Ex: He acted as if he had been mad.

• Linking Verb :
Subjective Complement বলতে বোঝায়, যা কোনো Linking verb এর পরে বসে Subject এর দোষ, গুণ, অবস্থা, পেশা, পদ, পদবী ইত্যাদি প্রকাশ করে। 
এ Structure অনুযায়ী He went mad, He appeared pale, He looked handsome এই তিনটি বাক্যেই linking verb আছে।

•অন্যদিকে,
The man goes there everyday. - বাক্যে verb এর পর Subjective Complement আসে নি, Adverb এসেছে। তাই এটা Linking Verb নয়।

• She enjoys playing tennis, but he prefers basketball. - Here 'but' is - Co-ordinate clause. 

• Co-ordinate clause : 
- Two independent clauses "She enjoys playing tennis" & "he prefers basketball" are connected by the coordinating conjunction "but."
- দুই বা ততোধিক সমমানের principal clause যখন Co-ordinating conjunction দ্বারা যুক্ত হয়ে compound sentence গঠন করে তখন তাদেরকে Co-ordinate clause বলে।
- Co-ordinate clause সাধারণত and, or, so, but, yet, otherwise, not only-but also ইত্যাদি Co-ordinating conjunction দ্বারা যুক্ত হয়।

The correct sentence is - ''It's hospital. You mustn't smoke.''

এখানে must = obligatory matter (আবশ্যিক বিষয়)। 
কোন কিছু করা যাবে, যাবেনা, বাধ্যবাধকতা, নিষেধাজ্ঞা বোঝাতে must, mustn't ব্যবহৃত হয়।
