Dogmatic [ডগম্যাটিক্] (adjective)

(২) (উক্তি) যুক্তি বা তথ্যনির্ভর নয় এমন মতবাদ বা বিশ্বাস।

• এখানে home একটি adverb যা verb ‘go’ কে modify করেছে।
- Home শব্দটি এখানে adverb of place.

• Adverb: 
- যেসব word noun বা pronoun ছাড়া অন্য যেকোন parts of speech, বিশেষ করে verb কে modify করে সেগুলোকে adverb বলে।

- Help, Get, Have, Let, Make ইত্যাদি বহুল প্রচলিত causative verb.
- যেমন: He always has me do his work.

গ) Transitive verb:
- যে verb এর object আছে তাকে transitive verb বলে।
- Transitive verbs এর সাধারণ Structure হচ্ছে: subject + verb + object.
- Object সর্বদাই Noun অথবা Pronoun হয়।

ঘ) Linking verb: যেসব verb এর অর্থ প্রকাশের জন্য complement এর প্রয়োজন হয় তাদের Linking verb বলে।

Forfeit (verb)
Meaning: Lose or be deprived of (property or a right or privilege) as a penalty for wrongdoing
Bengali meaning: শান্তি বা পরিণাম হিসেবে কিংবা নিয়মকানুনের দরুন ক্ষতি স্বীকার করা বা ক্ষতি স্বীকার করতে বাধ্য হওয়া; (অধিকার) খোয়ানো
The Bengali meaning of other words are:
Forehead - কপাল; ললাট।
Feign - ভান করা।

একই ব্যক্তি Subject ও Object হলে Object হিসেবে Reflexive Pronoun ( যেমন – himself, myself, themselves etc. ) বসে।
আর যে Verb এর Object – Reflexive Pronoun, সে verb কে Reflexive Verb বলে।
ঘ- এর মধ্যে himself Object হিসেবে আসে নি, বরং এটা Subject কে জোর দেয়ার জন্য এসেছে, তাই এটা হচ্ছে Emphatic Pronoun.

• Coercive (Adjective):
- English meaning: using force to persuade people to do things that they are unwilling to do
- Bangla meaning: দমনমূলক।

• Structure: Subject + together with + verb + object.

- প্রশ্নে উল্লিখিত বাক্যে together with এর পূর্বে subject singular "Each of the students" থাকায় শূন্যস্থানে 'is' বসবে।

• Noun মূলত দুই প্রকার।
১) Concrete Noun (স্পর্শনীয়, দৃশ্যমান)
২) Abstract Noun (অস্পর্শনীয়, অদৃশ্যমান)

• Concrete noun:
- Concrete Noun হলো সেই সব বস্তুর নাম যাদের বাহ্যিক অস্তিত্ব আছে। অর্থাৎ যা ইন্দ্রিয়ের সাহায্যে উপলব্ধি করা যায়: দেখা যায়, গন্ধ পাওয়া যায়, ছোঁয়া যায় বা আস্বাদন করা যায়।
উদাহরণ: cow, book, building, sugar, man, river ইত্যাদি।

• Classification of Concrete Noun:
১) Proper Noun → নির্দিষ্ট নাম (যেমন: Dhaka, Rahim)।
২) Common Noun → সাধারণ নাম (যেমন: boy, city)।
৩) Collective Noun → সমষ্টি বোঝায় (যেমন: army, jury)।
৪) Material Noun → পদার্থ বোঝায় (যেমন: gold, water, air)।

• Abstract Noun: 
- Abstract Noun হলো সেই সব Noun যা কোনো অবস্তুগত ধারণা বা গুণকে নির্দেশ করে। এর কোনো বাহ্যিক অস্তিত্ব নেই। একে দেখা, ছোঁয়া, গন্ধ পাওয়া বা শ্রবণ করা যায় না, কেবল কল্পনা বা অনুভব করা যায়।
উদাহরণ: Belief, Honesty, Justice, Kingship, Motherhood, Childhood ইত্যাদি।

• প্রশ্নের বাক্য:  “Justice must prevail in society.”
- এখানে Justice শব্দটি কোনো দৃশ্যমান বস্তু নয়, বরং একটি ধারণা/গুণ প্রকাশ করছে—ন্যায়বিচার।
- যেহেতু Justice একটি বিমূর্ত ধারণা, তাই এটি Abstract Noun.
সুতরাং সঠিক উত্তর হলো: খ) Abstract Noun.

• Good at something/doing something
- English Meaning: If you are good at something, you are able to do it well.
- Bangla Meaning: দক্ষ; যোগ্য।

- অর্থাৎ, কোনো কিছুতে দক্ষ বোঝাতে সাধারণত Good at বসে।
- "Good at" is used when talking about activities or areas of expertise.

•  Direct speech থেকে Indirect speech এ রূপান্তরের বেলায়:

- Reporting verb এর subject বসে।
- Reporting verb say/said, tell/told (যদি থাকে) বসে।
- Inverted comma উঠে that বসে।
- Direct speech এ must থাকলে Indirect speech এ had to হয়।
- to এর পর verb এর base form বসবে।
- বাকি অংশ বসবে।
- Dicect speech- এ 'now' থাকলে indirect speech- এ 'then' বসবে।

Direct speech: He said, "I must leave now."
Indirect speech: He said that he had to leave then.

'The baby cries all night.' In this sentence, the verb 'cries' is - Intransitive verb.
- The verb “cries” does not take a direct object.
- It expresses an action that stops with the subject (the baby).
- Therefore, “cries” is an intransitive verb.

• Intransitive verb:
- যেসকল verb এর object বা কর্ম থাকে না তাকে Intransitive verb বলে।
- সাধারণত Intransitive verb এর পর adverb অথবা preposition ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত Intransitive verb-কে কি (what?) বা কাকে (whom?) দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে কোনো উত্তর পাওয়া যায় না।
- উল্লেখ্য Intransitive Verb এর ক্ষেত্রে কখন(when) বা কোথায় (where) দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করতে হয়।
- Intransitive verb যুক্ত sentence-এর সাধারণ Structure হচ্ছে: Subject + verb.

Examples:
• They run every morning.
• The cat jumped onto the table.
• The leaves fall in winter.

Other options,

• Transitive verb:
- যে verb এর object আছে তাকে transitive verb বলে৷
- Transitive verbs এর সাধারণ Structure হচ্ছে: subject + verb + object.
- Object সর্বদাই Noun অথবা Pronoun হয়।
- তাই বাক্যে verb এর পরে Noun অথবা Pronoun থাকলে verb টি সাধারণত transitive verb হবে।
- আবার intransitive verb এর শেষে preposition + object যুক্ত করেও তাকে transitive verb এ পরিণত করা যায়।
- যেমন: He writes a letter. write হলো transitive verb, কারণ এর object হলো a letter.

• কিছু Transitive verb এ object এর পাশাপাশি Complement থাকে।
Complement গুলো object কে Describe করে।
→ এই ধরনের Complement কে Objective Complement বলে।

• Factitive Verb:
- যে Verb এর Object বসানোর পরও Objective Complement ছাড়া বাক্যের অর্থ সম্পূর্ণ হয় না, তাকে Factitive Verb বলে।
- Factitive Verb হলো এমন ক্রিয়া যা দুটি object নেয় - একটি direct object এবং একটি object complement। এই verb direct object কে object complement হিসেবে বর্ণিত অবস্থায় পরিণত করে বা নিয়োগ দেয়।
- কিছু factitive verbs হলো: Elect, Select, Make, Appoint, Call, Name, etc.

- যেমন: The manager appointed him secretary.
- উল্লিখিত বাক্যে secretary হচ্ছে Objective Complement Factitive Object.
- "The manager appointed him" দ্বারা বাক্য সম্পন্ন হচ্ছে না, তাই Objective Complement হিসেবে secretary বসানোর পর বাক্যটি সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।
- যেহেতু Object (him) বসানোর পরও Objective Complement ছাড়া বাক্যের অর্থ সম্পূর্ণ হয়নি তাই এটি Factitive Verb.

• Causative Verb:
- Subject যখন নিজে কাজ না করে অন্যকে দিয়ে কাজ করিয়ে নেয় তখন এই অর্থে causative verb ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- Help, Get, Have, Let, Make ইত্যাদি বহুল প্রচলিত causative verb.
- Make, have, get প্রভৃতি যোগে অনেক verb- কে causative verb এ পরিণত করা যায়।
- যেমন:
- I shall get the work done by him. (আমি তার দ্বারা কাজটি করিয়ে নেব।)

ব্যাখ্যা: Exclamatory Sentence-কে Indirect-এ পরিণত করার সময় Exclamatory Sentenceটিকে Assertive Sentence-এ পরিনত করতে হয়। Exclamation-এর প্রকৃতি অনুযায়ী, exclaim in joy, exclaim in grief, exclaim in wonder ইত্যাদি ব্যবহৃত হয়।
কিন্তু যেখানে Exclamation-এর প্রকৃতি সম্বন্ধে নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায় না, সেখানে exclaim বা cry out ব্যবহার করাই সমীচীন। Exclamatory Sentence-এর Reporting Verb -এর অন্যান্য formগুলো হল swear, shout, applaud।
Direct Speech: তিনি বললেন, ‘ওরে বাবা! কী বিরাট সাপ!’
Indirect Speech: তিনি আশ্চর্য হয়ে বললেন যে সাপটি খুব বড়।
