• Principal clause:
- A principal clause is a group of words that contains both a subject and a predicate (verb) and expresses a complete thought. 
- অর্থাৎ, যে clause এ subject + verb থাকে এবং নিজে নিজেই সম্পূর্ন অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে পারে, অন্য কোনো clause এর উপর dependent নয় তাকে Principal clause বলে।

• Key Characteristics of a Principal Clause:
- Subject থাকবে।
- Predicate (Verb) থাকবে।
- Complete Thought প্রকাশ করবে।
- Can Stand Alone. অর্থাৎ, অন্য কোনো clause এর নির্ভরশীল নয়, একাই সম্পূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশ করবে।

• প্রদত্ত বাক্যটি "I finished my homework." একটি Principal Clause. কারণ,
- Subject: I আছে;
- Verb: finished আছে;
- Complete thought প্রকাশ করে;
- Can stand alone - অর্থাৎ, অন্য কোনো clause - এর নির্ভরশীল নয়, একাই সম্পূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।

- সুতরাং, এটি একটি Principal clause এর উদাহরণ।

Linking verbs are verbs that serve as a connection between a subject and further information about that subject.
They do not show any action; rather, they “link” the subject with the rest of the sentence.
The verb ‘to be’ is the most common linking verb but there are many others.
In the given sentence, ‘is’ serves as a link between the subject “My father” and further information about that subject “a doctor”.

বাক্যের প্রথম অংশ যা পরে ঘটেছেঃ When we arrived.

- Since যদি দুটি Clause কে যুক্ত করে তাহলে টা হবে Conjunction.
- "যেহেতু বা কারণ" অর্থে Since ব্যবহার হলে তা Conjunction হয়ে যায়।

- It is time ও It is high time এর পরে subject না এসে, কোন verb আসলে ঐ verb এর bare infinitive form (to + verb) হবে।
- আবার, বাক্যে It is time/It is high time থাকলে আর এর পর subject বসলে subject  এর পরের verb টি past form হয়।

Intransitive verb:
- বাক্যের অর্থ সম্পন্ন করতে যে verb এর কোনো Object প্রয়োজন হয় না, তাকে Intransitive verb বলে।
- বাক্যে verb এর পরে কোন Word না থাকলে অথবা Verb এর পরে adverb থাকলে verb টি Intransitive verb হয়।

Factitive verb:
- Transitive verb এর object থাকা সত্ত্বেও যদি object পরবর্তী noun অথবা adjective (complement) এর সাহায্য ছাড়া বাক্য পূর্ণ না হয়, তখন ঐ বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত verb কে factitive verb বলে।

Milk একটি Uncountable noun (গণনাযোগ্য নয়)।
Uncountable noun-এর পরিমাণ জানতে "How much" ব্যবহার করা হয়।
অর্থাৎ "Milk" (দুধ) একটি Uncountable Noun (গণনা করা যায় না এমন বিশেষ্য)। আমরা দুধের পরিমাণ পরিমাপ করতে পারি (যেমন: এক লিটার দুধ), কিন্তু এটিকে গণনা করতে পারি না (যেমন: একটি দুধ, দুটি দুধ — এভাবে বলা যায় না)।

• Quantifier এর ব্যবহার:

প্রশ্ন করার জন্য "how much" বা "how many" ব্যবহার করতে হয়।

• সাধারণত transitive verb এবং তাদের পরে That/ Wh Word দ্বারা শুরু হয়ে যদি কোনো Clause বসে noun এর কাজ করে তখন Clause টি Noun Clause হয়।
- প্রদত্ত sentence টিতে 'how to solve the problem' Noun clause এর নিয়ম অনুযায়ী transitive verb (showed) এর পরে Wh word (how) দ্বারা শুরু হয়ে noun এর কাজ করছে।

• Past Indefinite Tense যুক্ত Active Sentence কে Passive করার নিয়ম:
- Active voice এর Object টিr Subjective form বসবে। 
- was/were বসবে। 
-  verb এর past participle form বসবে। 
- by বসবে।
- Active voice এর subject টির objective form বসবে।
- কিন্তু এখানে surprised থাকায় 'by' এর পরিবর্তে 'at' বসবে। 

অতএব উপরের নিয়ম অনুসারে সঠিক Passive form হলো- I was surprised at his behavior.
