These shoes এর relative pronoun হিসেবে প্রশ্নোক্ত বাক্যের শূন্যস্থানে which বসবে।
- কারণ বাক্যে শুরুতে ask verb আছে যা interrogative relative pronoun নির্দেশ করে।

 শূন্যস্থানে সঠিক উত্তর হচ্ছে - retired.
- Complete sentence: He had written the book before he retired.

• দুইটি clause যদি before দ্বারা যুক্ত থাকে তাহলে  before এর পূর্বের  clause টিতে verb এর past perfect এবং পরের  clause টিতে past indefinite tense হয়।
- We had reached the school before the bell rang.
- যেহেতু প্রশ্নে উল্লিখিত বাক্যটিতে before এর আগের অংশ Past perfect tense এ আছে, তাই পরের অংশে past indefinite.

• আবার,
- যদি before দ্বারা যুক্ত প্রথম clauseটি future perfect tense এ হয়, তবে পরের  clause টিতে present indefinite tense হবে।

- অর্থাৎ, গান গাওয়ার কাজটি করছে 'students', তাই পরবর্তী অংশে subject "students" modifier -এর সাথে correctly match করে।
- অর্থাৎ, Subject কে স্পষ্ট করতে "the students" শুরুতেই বসবে।

• Dangling modifier:
- যখন কোনো modifier সঠিক subject কে modify না করে অন্য কিছুকে modify করে তখন তাকে dangling/illogical/misplaced modifier বলে।
- প্রশ্নে dangling modifier এর ক্ষেত্রে সাধারণত simple sentence এর দুইটি অংশ থাকে যা কমা (,) দ্বারা আলাদা করা থাকে।
- প্রথম অংশটি gerund/infinitive/participle/adjective phrase/having been +v3/preposition+verb+ing, ইত্যাদি দ্বারা শুরু হয়ে থাকে কিন্তু প্রথম অংশে subject থাকে না।
- প্রথম অংশের এই অনুল্লিখিত subject টিকেই দ্বিতীয় অংশের subject হিসেবে সঠিকভাবে use করতে হবে।

অন্যান্য অপশন:
ক) Before singing the school song, reciting a poem by the students.
- এটি Incomplete sentence - কারণ কোনো main verb নেই, দ্বিতীয় অংশে "Reciting" ও participle, finite verb নেই।

খ) Before singing the school song, a poem was recited.
- এটিতে Dangling modifier রয়েছে, অর্থাৎ, "Before singing" এর subject নেই।
- Main clause-এ subject হিসেবে "a poem" আছে, কিন্তু poem 'singing' করতে পারে না! Students 'singing' করে।
- এখানে modifier "Before singing the school song" টি illogically "poem" কে ভুলভাবে modify করছে।

গ) Before reciting a poem, the school song was sung.
- এখানেও Dangling modifier রয়েছে, অর্থাৎ, "Before reciting" এর subject নেই।
- "Before reciting" এর implied subject হওয়া উচিত main clause-এর subject.
- Main clause-এ subject হিসেবে "the school song" আছে, কিন্তু 'the school song' 'singing' করতে পারে না, কারো দ্বারা singing হয়।

• Imparetive sentence এর Active voice কে Passive voice এ রূপান্তরের নিয়ম:
- Let দিয়ে Passive voice এর বাক্যটি শুরু হবে।
- Active voice এর object টি Passive voice এ subject হিসেবে বসে।
- be বসে।
- মূল verb এর past participle form বসে।

- Bangla: পরিচালক তাকে এই চরিত্রের জন্য প্রতিভাবান বলে মনে করেছিলেন।

- যেসব transitive verb সরাসরি তাদের object-এর সাথে যুক্ত হয়, তাদের পরে preposition প্রয়োজন হয় না।
- যেমন: reach, resemble, violate, discuss, consider, resign, sign, investigate, recommend, order, command, enter ইত্যাদি transitive verb এর পর সাধারণত কোনো preposition বসে না, সরাসরি object বসে।

- The verb "consider" is typically followed by a direct object + adjective/noun without as or to be.
- "মনে করা; বিবেচনা করা; গণ্য করা" ইত্যাদি অর্থে consider -এর পরে সাধারণত কোনো preposition বসে না, সরাসরি object বসে।

Bereft of hope/meaning/life etc:
English Meaning - completely without any hope etc. 
Bangla meaning - বঞ্চিত হওয়া/বিছিন্ন হওয়া (বিমূর্ত কোনো কিছু থেকে)।

গ) Optative sentence: যে Sentence দ্বারা কোনো ইচ্ছা (wish), প্রার্থনা (prayer), আশা (hope), আকাঙ্ক্ষা (desire) বা অভিশাপ (curse) প্রকাশ করে, যেখানে সাধারণত 'May', 'Long live' ইত্যাদি শব্দ ব্যবহার করা হয় তাকে Optative sentence বলে।
- যেমন: May you live long.

ঘ) Imperative sentence: যে Sentence দ্বারা কোনো আদেশ, অনুরোধ, উপদেশ, অনুমতি, আমন্ত্রণ বা নিষেধ বোঝায়,তাকে Imperative Sentence বলে। যেমন: Give me a glass of water.

Complete sentence: It is time we left for the station.

• It is time/It is high time:
- It is time/It is high time থাকলে আর এর পর subject বসলে subject - এরপরের verb টি past form হয়।
- তাই বাক্যটির verb হবে left.

It is time ও It is high time এর পরে subject না এসে, কোন verb আসলে ঐ verb এর Infinitive form হবে।
যেমন: It is high time to change our attitude.

compensate somebody for something অর্থ কাউকে কোনো কিছুর জন্য ক্ষতিপূরণ দেওয়া।
অর্থাৎ সঠিক বাক্য The railway will compensate us for the loss (রেলওয়ে আমাদেরকে ক্ষতিপূরণ দিবে)।
এখানে যেহেতু ক্ষতিপূরণ দেয়ার কথা বলা হয়েছে সেহেতু compensate এরপরে with, from, over হবে না।

Active: Let him finish the chore.

• Let যুক্ত Imperative sentence এর Active voice কে passive voice এ পরিণত করার নিয়ম:
- প্রথমে Let বসে।
- Object টির subject রূপে বসে।
- be বসে।
- মূল verb এর past participle form বসে।
- by বসে।
- Active voice এর subject টির Object রূপে বসে।

• Structure: Let + Object টির subject বসে + be বসে + মূল verb এর past participle form বসে + by + subject টির Object রূপে বসে।

• Participle:
- A participle is a verb that ends in -ing (present participle) or -ed, -d, -t, -en, -n (past participle).
- Participle may function as Adjectives, describing or modifying Nouns.
- Participle একই সাথে Verb ও Adjective এর কাজ করে।

• Participle মূলত তিন প্রকার:
1. Present Participle. Ex: The story is thrilling.
2. Past Participle. Ex: This is a book written by Charles Dickens.
3. Perfect Participle. Ex: Having gained the truth, keep the truth

• এখানে "crying baby" দ্বারা বোঝানো হয়েছে "কাঁদছে এমন শিশু বা যে শিশু কাঁদছে"।
- "Crying" শব্দটি এসেছে verb "cry" থেকে, যা এখানে present participle রূপে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

- এটি কোনো noun কে modify করছে না।

Complete sentence: The family left their homeland during the 1990s.

• অতীতের একটি নির্দিষ্ট ঘটনা বোঝাতে Simple Past ব্যবহার হয়।
- এখানে 1990s একটি নির্দিষ্ট অতীত সময় নির্দেশ করছে।
- অতএব, left (simple past of leave) সঠিক।

Other options,
খ) was left
- এটি passive form.
- অর্থ: "ছাড়া হয়েছিল" বা "পরিত্যক্ত ছিল"।
- উদাহরণ: The house was left in ruins after the storm.
- এখানে “the family” মূল subject হওয়ায় passive voice ব্যবহার করা ভুল।

গ) had been left:
- এটি Past Perfect Passive। এর অর্থও হবে "পরিবারটিকে ছেড়ে যাওয়া হয়েছিল" যা সঠিক নয়।

- ভুল — Past perfect, সাধারণত তখন ব্যবহার হয় যখন কোনো ঘটনা আরেকটি অতীত ঘটনার আগে ঘটেছে।

• May, might, can, could, must, ought to, going to, ইত্যাদি modal auxiliary যুক্ত Active Voice কে Passive Voice এ পরিবর্তন করার সময়-
- Active এর object টি subject হিসেবে বসে।
- তারপর modal auxiliary টি বসে।
- এর পরে be বসে।
- তার পরেই মূল verb টির Past Participle বসে।
- by + active এর subject object হিসেবে বসে (যদি থাকে)।

• Note: shut এর past participle হলো shut.

• Eloquent (Adjective)
English Meaning: Fluent or persuasive in speaking or writing; expressing ideas or feelings clearly, effectively, and with power.
Bangla Meaning: বাগ্মী; সুন্দরভাবে ও প্রভাবশালীভাবে কথা বলা বা লেখা।

• Example Sentences:

Yesterday উল্লেখ করা থাকলে Past Indefinite Tense হয়।
Occur, happen ইত্যাদি Intransitive Verb. Intransitive Verb কখনো Passive Voice এ ব্যবহৃত হয় না।
Tips : যে verb এর Dictionary Meaning এর শেষে ‘করা’ লাগানো থাকে সেটা যদি বাক্যে ‘হওয়া’ অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয়, তাহলে সেটা Passive Voice হয়। যেমন- pollute = দূষিত করা। এখন দূষিত হওয়া অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হলে বাক্য Passive হবে।
কিন্তু যে verb এর Dictionary Meaning এর শেষে ‘হওয়া’ লাগানো থাকে, সেটা কখনো Passive Voice হয় না। যেমন - occur, happen =সংঘটিত হওয়া।

- রোগে মারা যাওয়া অর্থে die of বসে। যেমনঃ
- The man died of Malaria.
- দুর্ঘটনায় মারা যাওয়া অর্থে die in বসে। যেমনঃ
- He died by an accident.
- ভাল কাজের জন্য বা দেশের জন্য মারা যাওয়ার অর্থে die for বসে। যেমনঃ
- He died for country.
- শান্তিতে মারা যাওয়া অর্থে die in বসে। যেমনঃ
- He died in 1993.

• She spoke confidently during the interview. Here, the word "confidently" is - Adverb.

• এখানে “confidently” হলো কিভাবে সে কথা বলেছে, সেটি বোঝাচ্ছে।
- যে শব্দ verb, adjective বা অন্য adverb কে modify করে, তাকে adverb বলা হয়।
- এখানে "spoke" হলো verb, এবং "confidently" সেই verb এর ক্রিয়াপদ্ধতি (manner) নির্দেশ করছে।
