- যেমন: Mr. Najrul is a man of great intelligence.
- এখানে "of great intelligence" - preposition দিয়ে শুরু হয়ে Adjective -এর কাজ করছে তাই এটি Prepositional Phrase.

• Appositive phrase:
- It renames another noun in the sentence.
- যে noun phrase তার পূর্বের noun সম্পর্কে (comma ব্যবহার করে) নতুন তথ্য যোগ করে তাকে appositive phrase বলে।
- যেমন: Mr. Salim, my favorite English teacher, is doing this assignment for me.

• Participle phrase:
- A participial phrase is a group of words that includes a participle (a verb form used as an adjective) and any accompanying words that modify or complement it.
- যেমন: Going home, I will take rest.

Direct: The priest said, "May God forgive your sins."
Indirect: The priest prayed that God might forgive my sins.

• Optative sentence এর ক্ষেত্রে, Optative Sentence এর Direct speech কে Indirect speech এ রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম:
- said এর পরিবর্তে wished/prayed বসবে,
- inverted comma উঠে গিয়ে that বসবে,
- reported speech এর subject বসে + may/ might বসে,
- reported verb এর মূল verb থেকে শেষ পর্যন্ত অংশ বসে।

• প্রদত্ত বাক্যটি একটি Optative Sentence.
- Optative Sentence এর Direct speech কে Indirect speech এ রূপান্তর করার ক্ষেত্রে 'said'-এর পরিবর্তে prayed বসবে।
- Prayed-এর পর সাধারণত সরাসরি object বসে না।

Meaning - Any disease marked by inflammation and pain in the joints, muscles, or fibrous tissue, especially rheumatoid arthritis.
Bangla Meaning - সন্ধিবাত; গাঁট, পেশি ইত্যাদির প্রদাহ।

• The nightingale is a singing bird. 
- Here, 'singing' is a Participle.

- প্রদত্ত বাক্যে "singing" শব্দটি "bird" noun কে বর্ণনা করছে (যে পাখি গান করে) বিধায় adjective-এর হিসেবে কাজ করছে।
- তাই 'singing' এখানে present participle.

• Present participle:
- Verb -এর সাথে ing যোগ হয়ে যদি adjective -এর কাজ করে অর্থাৎ, একই সাথে Verb ও adjective -এর কাজ করে, তাহলে তাকে present participle বলে।
- সহজ ভাষায় → present participle হলো Verb + ing = adjective = Verb + adjective কাজ করে।

অন্যদিকে, 
• Gerund:
- Verb -এর সাথে ing যোগ হয়ে যদি noun -এর কাজ করে অর্থাৎ, একই সাথে Verb ও noun -এর কাজ করে, তখন তাকে Gerund বলে।
- সহজে → Gerund = Verb + ing = noun = Verb + noun -এর কাজ করে।

Vacillate [ভ্যাসিলেইট্] (verb intransitive)

English Meaning: To be unable to decide something and especially to continue to change opinions.
Bangla Meaning: (between) দ্বিধা করা; দ্বিধান্বিত হওয়া; দোদুলচিত্ত/দোলায়মান/দোলায়িত/দোদুল হওয়া; আন্দোলিত/দোদুল্যমান হওয়া; (মতামত ইত্যাদিতে) অনিশ্চিত হওয়া: vacillate between hope and fear.

- Fewer এবং less হচ্ছে যথাক্রমে few এবং little এর comparative degree।
- তুলনামূলক কম সংখ্যক অর্থে countable noun এর পূর্বে fewer এবং তুলনামূলক কম পরিমাণ অর্থে uncountable noun এর পূর্বে less বসে। যেমন:
- The newspaper reports inform that women driver have fewer accidents than men.

ব্যাখ্যা:
quasi-passive Verb বলতে এমন কিছু verb বুঝায় যেগুলো half active এবং half passive। Sell, build, smell, taste হল খুবই প্রচলিত কিছু quasi-passive Verb। কিন্তু এছাড়াও কিছু verb quasi-passive sense প্রকাশ করতে পারে।
যেমন, এই বাক্যটির অর্থ হল: গল্পগুলো পড়তে ভাল লাগে। অর্থাৎ, এই বাক্যটিতে কোন কর্তা পাচ্ছি না আমরা। গল্পটি পড়তে কার ভাল লাগে সে কথা বলা নেই। তাই, এটি passive অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।
quasi-passive verb দুই ধরণের হতে পারে। উপরের বাক্যটিতে well হল complement। Complement-বিশিষ্ট quasi-passive verb কোন বাক্যে থাকলে তাকে passive করতে হলে এই structure অণুসরণ করতে হয়:
passive: S+ be-verb + complement +when (if)+it/they+be verb+Verb-এর past participle।

Bangla meaning: বৃষ্টি শেষ হতে না হতেই সূর্য উদিত হলো।

-কোনো বাক্যে hardly had থাকলে hardly had যুক্ত অংশটি past perfect tense হয় ।
