Parts of Speech

• 'Trout' has the identical singular and plural form.

• Trout (noun) [plural trout or trouts]

• One of/ Any of/ Each of/ Either of/ Neither of যদি subject হিসেবে ব্যবহার হলে এরপরে সব সময় Plural Noun বসে। যার কারণে এটি 'Any of the books' হয়েছে।
- আর 'Any of the books' phrase এর headword টি 'Any' singular হওয়ায় Verb Singular হবে।

• Orphan (Noun):
- Bangla Meaning: এতিম; (শিশু)।
- English Meaning: a child deprived by death of one or usually both parents.

- বাক্যে বলা হয়েছে শিশুটি এতিম হয়েছে, যেহেতু, ছেলে বা মেয়ে কিছুর উল্লেখ নেই।

- যেমন – Man, boy, father, son, king, uncle, actor, nephew, husband, ইত্যাদি।

ঘ) In spite of/despite:

- Here, the word "laughed" is a খ) Cognate verb.

• Cognate Verb:
- কোনো Intransitive verb যখন বাক্যস্থিত ক্রিয়াপদ বা verb এর মূলশব্দ (root word) থেকে উৎপন্ন নতুন কোন word বা শব্দকে object হিসেবে গ্রহণ করে তখন সেই verb কে Cognate verb বলা হয়।
- Verb এবং Object একই জাতের অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।
- আর object টিকে বলা হয় cognate object.

• Factitive verb:
- Transitive verb এর object থাকা সত্ত্বেও যদি object পরবর্তী noun অথবা adjective (complement) এর সাহায্য ছাড়া বাক্য পূর্ণ না হয়, তখন ঐ বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত verb কে factitive verb বলে।
- কিছু factitive verbs হলো: Elect, Select, Make, Appoint, Call, Name, etc.
- Example: They elected him chairman.

• Group/phrasal verb:
- যেসব verb এর পরে preposition বসে ভিন্ন অর্থ প্রকাশ করে তাদেরকে Group verb বা phrasal verb বা prepositional verb বলে।
- Example: look after, get up, run into, etc. 

• Causative Verb:
- যে Verb গুলো দিয়ে নিজের জন্য কাজ না করে বরং অন্যের জন্য কাজ করানো বুঝায় বা অন্যকে দিয়ে কাজ করিয়ে নেয়া বুঝায় সেগুলোই হলো Causative Verb.
- Example: Make, let, help, get, have, etc.

Carry something off (phrasal verb): 
English Meaning - To succeed in doing or achieving something difficult. 
Bangla Meaning - জিতে নেওয়া। 
For example - I thought he carried off the part of Hamlet with great skill.

Complete Sentence - Despite facing fierce competition, she managed to carry off the top prize in the competition.

Efficacy [ইফফিকাসি] (noun):
English Meaning: The quality of being effective; effectiveness.
Bangla Meaning: কার্যক্ষমতা।

We often use made from when we talk about how something is manufactured:

We use made of when we talk about the basic material or qualities of something. It has a meaning similar to ‘composed of’:

We usually use made out of when we talk about something that has been changed or transformed from one thing into another:

They were living in tents made out of old plastic sheets.

We use made with most often to talk about the ingredients of food and drink:

ING যুক্ত Verb এর ব্যবহার:
১. Continuous Tenses (with auxiliary verbs) হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
চেনার উপায়: এর পূর্বে be verb অথবা have verb যুক্ত হয়ে main verb হিসেবে কাজ করবে।

২. noun হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়। (এটাকে gerund ও বলা হয়।)
চেনার উপায়: বাক্যে Subject, Object এবং Object of Preposition হিসেবে কাজ করবে।
Subject: Writing is an important skill.
Object: She suggested taking notes.
Object of Preposition: I improved my English by practicing every day.

৩. Adjectives হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়। (এটাকে present participle ও বলা হয়।)

আলোচ্য বাক্যে ‘fast’ শব্দটি দ্বারা ‘রোজা রাখা’ বুঝানো হয়েছে। অর্থাৎ, একটি ক্রিয়া সম্পাদন করা বুঝাচ্ছে।
অতএব, এটি একটি Verb।

- 'To' বিহীন infinitive form-কে bare infinitive বলা হয়। Let  এর পরে Verb-এর 'to' বিহীন infinitive form বসে।
- এ বাক্যে verb এর   পূর্বে to না বসায় এটিই bare infinitive যুক্ত বাক্য।

Bare Infinitive:
-"Bare infinitive" হলো ক্রিয়াপদের সেই রূপ যা 'to' ছাড়া ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- এটি সাধারণত কিছু বিশেষ ক্রিয়া, যেমন - make, let, help, see, hear, watch ইত্যাদির পরে বসে।
- Modals verbs যেমন: can, could, will, would, shall, should, may, might, must এর পরে সাধারণত bare infinitive বসে। 
-"Had better" এবং "Would rather"-এর পরে: এই দুটি বাক্যাংশের পরেও bare infinitive বসে। 
- যখন Do কোনো বাক্যে প্রধান ক্রিয়াপদ হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়, তখন তার পরে bare infinitive বসে।
