Complete Sentence: How long have they been married?

→ শূন্যস্থানে "they are" এবং "they have been" হবে না; কারণ বাক্যের শেষে question mark (?) রয়েছে।
→ "are they" simple present tense- এর ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহৃত হয় যেটা সাধারণত general truths, habitual actions or current situations বুঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
→ বাক্যটিতে "duration of their marriage" বুঝিয়েছে।
→ তাই শূন্যস্থানে "have they been" বসেছে।

→ Point of time এর পূর্বে since বসে।
→ Point of time হচ্ছে সেই সময়কাল যাকে এক, দুই, তিন ইত্যাদি গণনার একক দ্বারা গণনা করা যায় না বরং কোনো সময়কে নির্দেশ করে।
→ সময় - নির্দিষ্ট দিন হতে পারে (Friday, Monday), নির্দিষ্ট ঘড়ির কাঁটা হিসেবে ঘন্টা হতে পারে (five o'clock), নির্দিষ্ট সাল হতে পারে (1971) প্রভৃতির পূর্বে since বসে।
