• Correct Sentence: The strength of this bridge is higher than that of the old bridge.

• দুটি Noun এর মধ্যে তুলনা করার সময় পূর্বের Noun এর পুনরাবৃত্তি পরিহার করতে Uncountable Noun এর পরিবর্তে that of এবং Plural Countable Noun এর পরিবর্তে those of ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- অন্যভাবে বলা যায়, কোনো Comparative sentence এর প্রথম অংশ যদি The + Noun + of + Noun হয়, তবে verb এর পরের অংশ হবে than + that/ those of হবে।

• Structure:
- The + Uncountable Noun + of + Noun + Auxiliary verb + Comparative degree + than that of + ext.
- The + Countable Noun + of + Noun + Auxiliary verb + Comparative degree + than those of + ext.

• উল্লিখিত বাকি অপশনগুলো,
(ক) Sentence টিতে Comparative sentence এর প্রথম অংশের নিয়ম অনুসারে The + Noun + of + Noun (The strength of this bridge) হয়েছে, তাই দ্বিতীয় অংশে than এরপর that of হবে। কারণ, The strength of this bridge দ্বারা Uncountable Noun কে বুঝায়।

(খ) Sentence টিতে The strength of this bridge, Uncountable Noun কে বুঝায় তাই those of এর পরিবর্তে that of হবে।

(ঘ) দুটি Noun এর মধ্যে তুলনা করার সময় পূর্বের Noun এর পুনরাবৃত্তি পরিহার করতে হবে। তাই Sentence টিতে The strength of this bridge, Uncountable Noun কে বুঝায় তাই এখানে than the old's bridge এর পরিবর্তে than that of the old bridge হবে।
